Peter Banitt, MD FACC

Dr. Banitt received his Bachelor's degree from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN and then completed Medical School at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He then furthered his medical training by pursuing his internal medicine residency training at Boston's Beth Israel Hospital, and completing his general and interventional cardiology fellowship training at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Both are Teaching Hospitals affiliated with Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Banitt enjoys seeing patients with all types of cardiovascular problems and has a sub-specialty interest in coronary and peripheral interventions. This includes treating coronary artery narrowings with balloon angioplasty or stents. He is also able to treat peripheral artery disease by performing interventions in diseased vessels in the legs. Currently, Dr. Banitt is the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories at Legacy Portland Hospitals. In addition to his procedural interests, Dr. Banitt would like to get to know each person as an individual and make sure they understand their particular heart condition and how we are working to treat it.
Outside of work, Dr.Banitt is married and has twin daughters. He and his family enjoy horseback riding, camping and eating locally grown, organic foods.

William Davies, MD FACC

Dr. Davies completed his undergraduate education at Bates College in Maine. He received his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School. He completed internship, residency, and was a chief resident at the University of Wisconsin Sinai-Samaritan Medical Center campus in Milwaukee. He completed cardiology fellowship at the University of Vermont, and was an assistant professor of medicine and clinical cardiologist for an additional two years. He moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico where he was in private practice cardiology for 12 years before moving to Portland and joining Pacific Heart Associates in 2003.

Dr. Davies' interests include preventative cardiology and noninvasive imaging. He is the medical director for the Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit at Meridian Park Hospital.
In his spare time, Dr. Davies enjoys running, telemark skiing, and organic vegetable gardening.

John C Evans, MD

Dr. John Christopher Evans, originally from the midwest, is returning to Portland to join Pacific Heart Associates as a Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiologist after spending the last two years doing advanced training in Electrophysiology at Stanford University.
After graduating from the University of Michigan with high distinction, Dr. Evans attended Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, MI, did his internship and internal medicine residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. He moved to Portland for Cardiology fellowship at OHSU, and completed his Electrophysiology fellowship at Stanford University.

Dr. Evans is an expert in cardiac devices and has been trained in complex ablation, including atrial fibrillation ablation and ventricular tachycardia ablation as well as new techniques including pericardial access for ablation of epicardial ventricular tachycardia and cryoablation of atrial fibrillation.
Dr. Evans is excited to be back in Portland practicing with Pacific Heart Associates based primarily at Legacy Emanuel. Dr. Evans advocates for utilization of cardiac resynchronization in all eligible patients because he feels that his research in shock reduction provides another compelling reason in addition to improvements in mortality and heart failure hospitalizations. Above all, John prides himself on working with patients and referring physicians as a team in deciding not solely what therapy is indicated, but what is appropriate for each individual patient.

Miguel Gomez, MD FACC

Dr. Gomez completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Then received his medical degree at the University of Michigan Medical School, Ann Arbor, followed by a Internal Medicine Degree at the University of Washington, Seattle. A fellowship in cardiology was completed at University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

Dr. Gomez specializes in invasive but non-interventional cardiology including right and left heart catheterization, as well as noninvasive cardiology including stress testing and echocardiography. He also has an interest in the treatment of congestive heart failure and preventative cardiology.
Outside interest include photography, music, theatre and the arts as well as wine tasting and traveling. He likes sports and follows the Portland Trailblazers and the University of Michigan.

Michael Parsons, MD FACC

Dr. Parsons received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College where he majored in biology and music. He went on to medical school at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons. His training included a medical internship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, and then he completed residency at Cornell Medical College in New York City. He remained at Cornell for one more year, performing laboratory and clinical research in cholesterol metabolism, and then completed a fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, MA. He has been with Pacific Heart Associates since 2005. Why did he move all the way across the U.S.? Taller trees and taller mountains - and to find his wife (who, ironically, is also from Back East.)

Dr. Parsons is an invasive, non-interventional cardiologist. He performs and interprets all manner of diagnostic studies including coronary angiography, echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, and nuclear cardiography. He also implants pacemakers. He was taught old-school, though, and still believes that the best diagnostic tool is time spent with the patient. His professional interests include preventive medicine and management of cholesterol.
Outside the office, he enjoys theater and music; hiking and running; learning about sustainable design and construction; and spending time with his wife, step-daughter, and son.

Robert Quintos, MD FACC

Dr. Quintos completed his undergraduate training at the University of Notre Dame, received his medical degree from the University of Texas in Houston, and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago. While at Oregon Health & Science University, Dr. Quintos completed an American Heart Association postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology and a clinical fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease.

Dr. Quintos specializes in noninvasive cardiac imaging including stress echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, nuclear cardiac imaging, and cardiac CT angiography.
He currently serves on the Department of Medicine Executive Committee at Legacy Meridian Park Hospital and the Medical Director of Echocardiography at Pacific Heart Associates.
In his spare time, Dr. Quintos enjoys running, playing basketball, snowboarding and golfing.
